Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we prepare for the winter season, Butler R-V would like to remind families about the possibility of using Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) on days when weather conditions make it unsafe to hold school on campus.
Missouri districts may use up to 36 hours of AMI each year. This option allows teaching and learning to continue from home through teachers’ communication tools and prepared learning materials. In Butler R-V, the decision to use an AMI day will be made on a case-by-case basis. Families will be notified through our mass communication system (email/text/call) at the same time a weather-related closure is announced.
At Butler High School and Junior High, teachers will post instructions and assignments for the day in Google Classroom by 8:00 a.m.
Expectations on an AMI Day:
--Students are expected to log into Google Classroom and complete the assigned work for the day.
--Attendance will be based on assignment completion.
--Failure to complete work for a class will result in an unexcused absence for that hour in Infinite Campus.
--Students who are unable to complete work due to illness or lack of internet access will have one school day to make up the assignment and remove the absence.
We encourage families to reach out with any questions regarding AMI procedures or technology needs. Our hope is that the effective use of AMI days will reduce the need for snow make-up days while maintaining continuity in student learning.
Thank you for your partnership and understanding,
Mr. Gregg Webb, Principal
Mrs. Gwen Ford, Assistant Principal

Busy night for the Bears!
Our Junior High swept the Midway Vikings at home, and the High School teams battled hard — the girls brought home a win, while the boys came up just short. We’re back in action tomorrow down in Appleton.
