The Cross Country team traveled to Clinton on Tuesday for the Ozark Highlands Conference Championships. While it may have been in Clinton, it was hosted by Sherwood. It took place at Artesian Park, which used to be the site for meets of 50+ teams prior to 2007 when it was the site of the Clinton Invitational. This is the first time since 2013 a meet has been held at this site and proved to be a challenging course for all runners (and very nostalgic for yours truly).
To achieve All-Conference status you must get top 10 in your race. We had a few come through today, plus some good times overall. Mika Vice becomes the first Butler runner in school history to achieve All-Conference more than once! And she has 4 more years to go! And while he may not have achieved All-Conference, Ronen Hilgenberg ran in his first career HS meet and ran a fantastic time!
Thank you to Sherwood for hosting and to Mr. Duvall for being a lead car driver on a very curvy/hilly course.
Next up we travel to El Do for a HS only meet on Tuesday, 10/19.

Congratulations to the JH Lady Bears A team for finishing their season 13-1-3. They took 2nd in the Crest Ridge tournament where they suffered their only loss of the season in the Championship game, and they won the OHC Conference tournament making them the 2021 Conference Champs. Also, congratulations to Toree Hiser who tied the season record for points by scoring 132 points this season and who was one ace short of tying Kamden Fennewald's ace record of 50 aces on the season , and congratulations to Tandee Hiser who not only set the single game setting record in her first JH game, but broke the season set record with 225 sets this season. Also, shout out to Kamden Fennewald who also out set the old setting record with 209 sets on the season. Finally, a big shout out to their teammates because setting records don't get broken without great passing and hustle.

It wasn’t pretty, but the JH Lady Bears A team kept their winning streak alive beating Lamar in 3 sets last night (14-25, 25-20, 15-9). We struggled all game to find our rhythm, and finally settled down a bit in the second set. The game ended on an amazing defensive play and back row attack by Karli Patrick.
