Butler Christian Ministerial Alliance Scholarship

Local scholarship. Deadline: April 1. Award is $500. Eligibility:

Must be a senior at Butler High School OR be active in a Butler Christian Ministerial Alliance Church.
Applicant must be involved in the community, display positive leadership and Christian character, and have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
Three letters of recommendation, one from a teacher or school administrator, one from a pastor or youth pastor, and one from non-school personnel must accompany the scholarship application.
Applicant must attend a college, university, or trade school in fall the same year.

Butler FFA Family and Friends Scholarship

Local scholarship. Deadline: April 1. Award is $250.

CTA - Community Teachers of America Scholarship

Local Scholarship. Due April 1. Eligibility:

Minimum 3.0 GPA
Must be continuing education to postsecondary school.
Include a transcript and two letters of recommendation with your application.

Dean McGuire Memorial Scholarship

Local Scholarship. Deadline: April 1. Award is $500. Eligibility:

Be on track for graduation from Butler or Adrian High School
Have a minimum 2.0 GPA, attach transcript for verification.
Be planning to pursue higher education or vocational training after graduation.
Submit a 500-1000 word essay describing their future goals. The essay should also include how the $500 award could impact their ability to achieve those goals.
Include at least one letter of recommendation from a mentor or peer that sheds light on the candidate’s character and work ethic.
Candidate should have some involvement in school and/or community activities. Part time or full time work is included in this category.

Jack Baker Angus Farm Memorial Scholarship

Local Scholarship. Deadline: April 1. Award is $500 to one student. Eligibility:

Graduating senior and resident of Bates County
Minimum 2.0 GPA (attach transcript to the application)
Participation in community service and school activities
Two letters of recommendation, one from a high school teacher and one from a community member
Preference given to (but not limited to) students who are going to study and/or work in agriculture or any related field of study

The recipient must maintain a grade point average of 2.0 for both semesters and provide proof.

The Knights of Columbus offers several different scholarships through their organization with deadlines that vary.

MCCKC Scholarships Website

Deadline: First consideration is given to applications received on or before April 1.

Students planning to go to the Metropolitan Community Colleges (Longview, Penn Valley, Maple Woods, Blue River, Business and Tech Center) can go to the MCCKC website and apply for scholarships.

Karl Oskar Blaser Memorial Scholarship

Frank E. Robertson Memorial Scholarship

Local Scholarship. Deadline: April 14. Applicants must be going into education. Award amount varies.

Kate E. Walker Scholarship

Local scholarship. Deadline: April 14. Student must be going into education. Award is $100.

Mildred Dawson Lusk Scholarship

Local scholarship. Deadline: April 14. Award amount varies, but one student will be selected for a non-renewable sum.

Preference will be given to students entering the medical field.

Arma Lee and Darwin Jones Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for golfers with an award amount of $250. One female and one male senior will be awarded.

Citizens Bank Scholarship

C ollege JumpStart Scholarship

Deadline: October 17 and April 15 of each year. Eligibility:

Be a high school 10th-12th grader, college student or non-traditional student;
Be a US citizen or legal resident;
Attend or plan to attend an accredited 2-year, 4-year or vocational/trade school in the US;
Be committed to using education to better your life and that of your family and/or community.

Darin Wainscott Memorial Scholarship

Local Scholarship. Deadline: April 15. Award is $1,000 non-renewable.

This is a merit-based scholarship and should be typed and turned in to the counseling office.

Disabled American Veterans Scholarship

Deadline: April 16, 2024. Award is $500; two are available. Eligibility:

Be a child or grandchild of a veteran eligible for DAV membership.
Additional requirements are on the application.

John Byron Corbin Charitable Trust Scholarship

Local scholarship. Deadline: April 15. Eligibility:

Graduating senior of a Missouri High school.
Award considers financial need. Income tax form 1040, page 1, is required.
High school transcript, test scores, and two letters of recommendation from teachers must be included.
Applications and other materials must be scanned and emailed by April 15.

Opaa! Kenneth L. Short Memorial Scholarship

This is for five renewable $1,000 scholarships to students who are interested in pursuing a career in the food service/hospitality industry. Awards are based on financial need and enrollment in college.

KCAED Scholarship

Deadline: April 28, 2023. Eligibility:

Must be enrolled as full-time student (12 hour minimum per semester) for the fall semester during the year in which the scholarship is awarded.
Must be pursuing an Associate of Applied Science Degree or Certificate in either Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Repair.
Must be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 high school cumulative GPA, or a GED minimum score of 260.
